“All my life, I’ve sought to build bridges of understanding and cooperation between people,” says Jeffrey Peters. “This interest began on the business side,” said Peters, “when I founded The US-Mexican Development Corporation in 1978. As President and Vice President, respectively, of The US-Mexican Development Corporation, Jeffrey and Cici Peters have been involved in start-ups, mergers and acquisitions, buying and selling companies, tourism, vacation realty and residential retirement communities (primarily for American Babyboomers).
“Americans can benefit economically through profitable investment and commercial transactions with Mexicans, and vice-versa, but there is more…much more,” he said. “As Founder, CEO and President of USMDC, while the entrepreneurial spirit was a key motivator, it goes beyond that, because we fell in love with Mexico and the deeply spiritual Mexican people – a people of heart, compassion and deep culture – a people who have much to give to Americans in comeraderie and friendship.”
This has led to the Peters’ co-founding A New World Community of Love and Peace (www.newworldcommunity.com). “Our mission,” he says, “sourcing from Spirit, reflects the highest ideals and aspirations of all the world’s great religions and spiritual philosophies: to co-create a new world community of love and peace.” The Peters, who live in Tepoztlan, Morelos, Mexico, the spiritual capital of that country, says, “We hold these two words – “love” and “peace” – as more than mere words. Rather they reflect the deepest yearning of humankind – and indeed the intention of the Creative Intelligence and Nature Itself – for deep reverence for all life and the emergence of a profound harmony in the world among and between all human beings. Everyone’s invited. Everyone – believers and non-believers alike – are included.”
A New World Community of Love and Peace supports two charities whose foundations are based on love, established to help the most vulnerable among us.
Ministerios de Amor (The Ministers of Love) an altruistic association based in Mexico City, founded by Cecilia Blanchet Pezet in 1987, aimed at rescuing children who either live in the streets or under vulnerable conditions, by transforming their lives through love, education and comprehensive care.
God’s Love We Deliver. Based in New York City, the mission of God’s Love We Deliver is to improve the health and well-being of men, women and children living with HIV/AIDS, cancer and other serious illnesses by alleviating hunger and malnutrition. All of their services are provided free of charge without regard to income.
In March, Jeffrey B. Peters was named a “Love Ambassador” by The Love Foundation (www.thelovefoundation.com), a nonprofit organization with the mission of inspiring people to love unconditionally. The announcement was made by TLF’s founder and president, Harold W. Becker. Mr. Peters joins a sizeable list of “Love Ambassadors” from around the world. This list includes such notables as Ravi Shankar, legendary sitarist and composer, India’s most esteemed musical ambassador; the late great Vaclav Havel, playwright, poet and first President of the Czech Republic; Ram Dass, American contemporary spiritual teacher; and folk music legend Pete Seeger.
The Love Foundation is home of Global Love Day. The foundation says about its vision and purpose: “To further the understanding and application of unconditional love through education, research, and charitable programs. The desire is to explore a variety of activities that enhance unity and self-conscious expression while promoting love and respect to all aspects of life.
Jeffrey Peters and his wife Cici were also co-founders of We The People (http://wethepeople-wtp.org/), on whose behalf Mr. Peters ran as candidate for President of the United States in 2000.
